Alcatel has finally introduced the Idol 4 smartphone in the Indian market. The company had an event scheduled in the capital where it launched the device along with a virtual reality (VR) headset. To recall, the Alcatel Idol 4 was unveiled initially during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year. The BlackBerry DTEK50, a replica of the Alcatel Idol 4, was launched in India last month.
The Alcatel Idol 4 comes in all glass body and flaunts a 5.2-inch Full HD LTPS IPS display. What powers this phone is an octa-core (eight cores) Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.7GHz. Assisting this is Adreno 405 GPU for graphics alongside 3GB RAM for multitasking. It comes with 16GB onboard storage which supports further expansion up to 512GB by means of a hybrid SIM slot.
This is a Dual-SIM device featuring two nano SIM slots (nano, nano + microSD). It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system while packing in a 2610mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support. It houses a 13-megapixel rear snapper paired with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). It also has an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The Alcatel Idol 4 is comprised of a button on the right side called ‘Boom Key’ which enables access to games, music, camera, videos, and more. It comes with a set of connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB OTG.
Available in Gold, Dark Grey, and Metal Silver colour options, the Alcatel Idol 4 comes at a price of Rs 16,999. The device will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart starting today (December 8th) at 2PM.
