MWC 2017: Alcatel Unveils Three New Smartphones, Tablet

Alcatel expanded its smartphones and tablets portfolio at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona. Alcatel unveiled three new smartphones — the A5 LED, A3, and U5 — in addition to a 2-in-1 tablet dubbed PLUS 12. To begin with, the Alcatel PLUS 12 tablet is based on a massive 11.6-inch Full HD screen. It is powered by Intel Celeron N3350 processor and 4GB. On the storage front, it offers 32GB eMMC SSD and microSD, expandable up to 128GB.

Furthermore, the Alcatel PLUS 12 tablet runs Windows 10 OS and houses a 5MP rear shooter. It packs 26.8WHr battery under the hood in addition to connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, a micro-HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Alcatel also bundles a Qualcomm MDM 9207-powered detachable keyboard with 128MB RAM and 2580mAh battery. Alcatel A5 LED

The Alcatel A5 LED, as the name suggests, flaunts a removable LED back panel supporting different [customizable] patterns. That aside, some other cover options include a speaker as well as a battery back. It has a 5.2-inch HD screen up front. Inside are an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB built-in storage (expandable via microSD). It houses an 8MP rear autofocus camera with dual-tone LED flash as well as a 5MP selfie camera. It is based on a 2800mAh battery.

Alcatel A3

The Alcatel A3, on the other side, has a 5-inch HD screen, 1.25GHz octa-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB using microSD). Moving on, it packs a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Standard connectivity options aside, it embraces VoLTE and NFC in addition to 2460mAh.

Alcatel U5

The last smartphone in the list — Alcatel U5 — is based on somewhat low-end specifications. It boasts of a 5-inch FWVGA display, a quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage. It offers 5MP rear snapper and a 2MP front-facing camera in addition to a fingerprint scanner and speakers up front. Finally, a 2050mAh battery is what completes the package. All these newly announced phones bundle two SIM card slots as well as Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
