Alleged Motorola Edge 40 Fusion / Lenovo ThinkPhone receives 3C certification, here’s what to expect

The alleged Lenovo ThinkPhone/Motorola Edge 40 Fusion has gotten approval from China’s 3C authority. A Motorola device with model number XT2309-1 has been spotted in 3C’s database. According to a previous leak by 91mobiles, the XT2309 has the “Bronco” codename and is expected to launch with Lenovo ThinkPhone branding. It is likely that some markets may receive the same device with Motorola Edge 40 Fusion branding.

The 3C certification shows that the Lenovo ThinkPhone could support 68W fast charging when it comes out. Unfortunately, the listing has no other information on its specifications. Now that it has received an important, it appears it won’t take too long for it to go official.

In June, the same publication put out a report that gave away the most important details about the new Motorola phones. The leak also gave information about the Bronco model, which is likely to come out as the Lenovo ThinkPhone / Motorola Edge 40 Fusion. The report said that the Bronco model will have an OLED panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 mobile platform. The SoC will be coupled with 8GB / 12GB of RAM.

It will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. On the back, it will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera that will double as a macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rest of its specifications are yet to be revealed. Shown above is a leaked render of the device.

Moto X40 / Motorola Edge 40 Pro to debut soon

In related news, Motorola has confirmed that it will unveil the Moto X40 on Dec. 15 in China. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered device will feature a 144Hz OLED display, 50-megapixel triple cameras, a 60-megapixel front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. The same device is likely to get rebranded as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in the global market.
