OnePlus Pad is said to be in the works. According to the latest report by MySmartPrice, a OnePlus device with “Aries” codename is being privately tested in India. The report claims that the device could be the first tablet from OnePlus. While the official moniker of the device is not known, the device is tentatively called the OnePlus Pad.

A report that was published in May 2022 also claimed that the internal testing of the OnePlus Pad has already started in India. However, the rumour mill did not reveal anything about it in the following months. In fact, reliable tipster Max Jambor claimed in November that the OnePlus’ tablet would launch in 2023. Since a new report claims that it is being tested again, it appears that the company may unveil it in the coming months.

According to the publication, it has learned from its source that the OnePlus Pad will be an affordable Android tablet. It is likely to be a tweaked version of one of the OPPO tablets that are already available in the market.

OnePlus’ next launch event is scheduled to take place on February 7th, 2023, in India. It will see the arrival of the OnePlus 11 5G and the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. It appears that the OnePlus Pad will not launch with the OnePlus 11. As per the report, the OnePlus tablet will debut alongside the OnePlus 11R, which may debut in June.

The Oppo Pad Air, a mid-range tablet, was unveiled in July 2022. It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus Pad will be based on the Pad Air. To recall, the Pad Air, which starts at Rs 16,999, offers a 10.36-inch IPS LCD 2K resolution display, a 5-megapixel front camera, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a Snapdragon 680 chipset, 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 64GB / 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, a 7,100mAh battery with 18W charging, ColorOS Pad UI-based Android 12 OS, and LTE connectivity.
