Huami’s Amazfit is known for offering an impressive line-up of smartwatches in India ranging from entry-level to mid-range segments. The company showcased the Amazfit BIP S at the CES 2020 held earlier this year. The affordable wearable comes with 40-day battery life, a colour display, personal activity tracking, and a variety of sports modes as its highlights.
Recently, the price of the wearable was revealed by Amazon, and it is priced the same as Amazfit BIP. Now, the brand has finally launched the BIP S in the country with different strap options. Let’s take a look at all features that the Amazfit BIP S offers.
Amazfit BIP S specification and features
The Amazfit BIP S is crafted from polycarbonate and has a lightweight form factor at just 19 grams without the strap and 31 grams with the strap. The brand is offering BIP S in Carbon Black, Red Orange, White Rock and Warm Pink strap colours, of which the black variant is constructed from TPU, and the remaining colours from silicone. The Amazfit Bip S is also 5ATM water-resistant, which means it can be submerged in up to 50 metres for 10 minutes. There’s a single stainless steel button on the side for navigation.
Coming to the display, the Amazfit BIP S comes with a 1.28-inch transflective colour TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels and Always-On functionality. The touchscreen display of the smartwatch features a layer of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an anti-fingerprint coating. The Amazfit BIP S runs Amazfit OS and is powered by a 200mAh battery. The brand claims that the battery can last up to up to 40 days, with a typical usage battery life of 15 days on a single charge.
The Amazfit BIP S comes with Huami-PAI health assessment system, which uses PPG Bio-Tracking optical sensor for continuous heart rate and resting heart rate monitoring. For fitness tracking, the watch comes with support for 10 sports modes including treadmill, outdoor running, walking, indoor cycling, outdoor cycling, open water, pool, yoga, elliptical trainer, and freestyle.
These modes provide data such as track display, speed, heart rate, distance reminders, and high heart rate reminders. The watch also comes with a swim-tracking mode that offers swimming data like stroke rate, stroke times, SWOLF index, tracks in open waters, and more.
Additionally, the watch also comes with a built-in Sony 28nm GPS chip, which means you don’t need to carry your phone with you when out on a run. The GPS can run for 22 hours at a stretch, according to the brand.
Other features of the watch include music playback control, over 40 watch faces, 2 editable dials, reminders, notifications, and more. The watch is cross-compatible with Android 5 Lollipop or iOS 10.0 and above through the Amazfit app.
