Amazfit Bip S Lite with always-on display and 30-day battery life launched in India: price, specifications

Huami had teased the launch of its latest budget smartwatch called the Amazfit Bip S Lite in India a week ago. Now, the brand has launched the Amazfit Bip S Lite in the country. The Bip S Lite is the toned-down variant of the Amazfit Bip S, which was launched in  India last month with a price tag of Rs 4,999.

The Bip S Lite is similar to the Bip S in terms of design and functionality. However, it offers only eight activity modes compared to 10 on the standard Bip S, and is being offered in three colours as opposed to four. The key highlights of the Amazfit Bip S Lite include an always-on colour display, up to 30 days battery backup and optical heart rate sensor.

The Amazfit Bip S Lite ships with a 1.28-inch always-on reflective touch display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, anti-fingerprint coating and 176 x 176 pixels screen resolution. The display offers an at-a-glance view for time, date, steps, weather, sports stats and more.

For fitness, there are eight sports modes on the smartwatch including treadmill, outdoor running, walking, indoor cycling, outdoor cycling, yoga, elliptical trainer and freestyle. There’s an optical heart sensor, which indicates the heart rate zones while working out.

The smartwatch runs Amazfit OS and is cross-compatible with Android (Lollipop and above) and iOS (10.0 and above). The wearable uses Bluetooth 5.0 LE to connect to a smartphone. As for the battery, the smartwatch is equipped with a 200mAh cell, which offers up to 30 days of backup with basic usage. In standby, the battery can last up to 90 days.

Design-wise, the Amazfit Bip S Lite is 5 ATM certified, which means it can survive up to 50 meters underwater. The wearable has over 150 watch faces with 40 available at the time of launch, and over 110 to be rolled out later through an OTA update.

The Huami Amazfit Bip S Lite has been priced at Rs 3,799 and will go on sale on Flipkart, Amazon and Amazfit’s online store starting July 29th from 12pm for a limited duration. After that, the second flash sale will be conducted on August 3rd from the same stores at the same time. Starting August 5th at 8pm, the device will be made available through open sale.
