Amazfit GTR smartwatch with built-in GPS and 24-day battery life launched for Rs 10,999

Last month we reported that Xiaomi-backed Huami would launch Amazfit GTR smartwatch in India soon. Now the wearable device has made its way to the country. To recall, the Amazfit GTR was official in China in July and was offered in two variants – 42mm and 47mm. In India the smartwatch has been launched only in the 47mm variant. Let’s take a look at the device below:

Technical Specifications:

The Amazfit GTR sports a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display. It is shielded by third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass with an anti-fingerprint coating. The smartwatch is also equipped with 5ATM water resistance meaning it can survive in up to 50 meters of water. The Amazfit GTR can be availed in three variants – titanium, stainless steel and aluminum alloy. The device offers a power and function button for easy navigation. 

Coming to the health-centric features, the Amazfit GTR offers support for 12 different sports modes including outdoor running/cycling, treadmill, open water swimming, pool swimming, elliptical trainer, climbing, skiing, trail running, etc. The Amazfit GTR is equipped with a BioTracker PPG sensor offering advanced 24-hour heart-rate monitoring. It also offers a sedentary reminder in case the user stays idle for a long period. The smartwatch displays alerts for incoming calls, messages, weather forecast, app notifications, find my phone and controlling music playback.

The Amazfit GTR is equipped with a 6-axis acceleration sensor, 3-axis geomagnetic sensor, air pressure sensor, and ambient light sensor. It also comes with built-in GPS+GLONASS for accurate positioning. The smartwatch supports Bluetooth 5.0 and is compatible with smartphones running on Android 5.0 or above and iOS 10 and above. The Amazfit GTR draws its power from a 410mAh li-polymer battery unit and is capable of lasting up to 24 days on typical usage. In basic watch mode without Bluetooth, heart rate and other features, the device can last up to 74 days. Lastly, on active GPS, the Amazfit GTR is claimed to offer 40 hours of battery life.

The Amazfit GTR 47.2mm has been launched at a price tag of Rs 10,999. Interested customers can purchase the smartwatch from Flipkart and Myntra starting September 12th .
