Xiaomi backed brand Huami has expanded its wearable lineup by announcing the new Amazfit GTR in China. The smartwatch has been launched in two sizes of 42mm and 47mm. Let’s take a look at both the devices below:
Specs & Features:
The 42mm Amazfit GTR is one of the smallest and lightest smartwatches measuring only 9.2mm in thickness and weighing only 25.5g. It is available in four colours – Star Black, Cherry Powder, Moonlight White and Coral Red. There is also a special edition variant with 60 Swarovski crystals for those who love luxury watches. The Amazfit GTR 47mm comes in three choices of aluminum alloy, stainless steel, and titanium metal. It is resistant to corrosion and also ensures durability. The 47mm watch is also available in an Iron Man limited edition. The Amazfit GTR smartwatch comes with a power button and function key for accessing and navigating through various features.
Both the Amazfit GTR 42 and 47mm come with a retina-grade AMOLED display panel with touch functionality. The former features a smaller 1.2-inch screen while the latter offers a 1.39-inch display. The Amazfit GTR is waterproof up to 50 meters and can be worn while swimming, snorkeling, bathing, raining, etc. The display is shielded by Corning Gorilla 3 against accidental damage and scratches.
The Amazfit GTR 42 and 47mm come with the same set of health-related features. Both the smartwatches offer 12 sports modes like indoor and outdoor running/riding, walking, swimming, elliptical machine, mountaineering, trail running, workout, etc. The Amazfit GTR is equipped with BioTracker PPG that ensures accurate and 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring of the heart. It also offers progressive recall, sedentary recall, and comprehensive health follow-ups. The Amazfit GTR 47mm is also capable of identifying arrhythmia. The smartwatch also comes with step and sleep trackers.
The Amazfit GTR smartwatch shows various notifications on a connected smartphone like incoming calls, messages, alarm, event reminders. It also lets the user control music playback. The smartwatch is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 and above and iOS 10 or higher. The Amazfit GTR 47mm is powered by a 410mAh battery unit while the 42mm variant is backed by a 195mAh unit. The former offers 74 days of usage while the latter is capable of lasting up to 32 days in basic mode.
On the connectivity front, the Amazfit GTR comes with GPS+GLONASS, NFC (limited to China), and Bluetooth 5.0.
Pricing & Availability:
Beginning with the Amazfit GTR 47mm, the smartwatch is available for 999 Yuan (~Rs 9,976) in an aluminum alloy/stainless steel variants. The titanium and Ironman limited editions are priced at 1,399 Yuan (~Rs 13,971). The Amazfit GTR 42mm carries a price tag of 799 Yuan (~Rs 7,979). The Swarovski special edition will retail at 999 Yuan (~Rs 9,769)
