Huami has launched a new rugged smartwatch called Amazfit T-Rex Pro. It is the successor to last year’s Amazfit T-Rex and comes with a few upgrades.

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro is a rugged smartwatch just like its predecessor. The latest offering also retains most of the key specifications including MIL-STD-810G certified durability, AMOLED display and long-lasting battery life. The T-Rex Pro will be launching in India later this month.

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro comes with improvements over its predecessor

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro sports a circular AMOLED display measuring 1.3-inches and bearing a 360 x 360 pixels resolution. The screen is shielded by a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass and an anti-fingerprint coating. The smartwatch is water-resistant up to 10 ATM and it has passed 15 regulations of military standards. 

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro is equipped with a second-generation BioTracker PPG optical sensor for 24×7 heart rate monitoring. There is the OxygenBeats feature that measures oxygen levels in the blood. The smartwatch comes with SomnusCare for monitoring sleeping patterns. The wearable device supports 100+ sports modes also features a PAI health assessment system. It also houses sensors like a 3-axis acceleration sensor, 3-axis gyroscope, geomagnetic, ambient light and barometric altimeter. 

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro runs on RTOS and offers features like notifications display, music playback, sunrise/sunset monitor, moon phase and weather tracker. The smartwatch comes with four navigation satellites including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and is compatible with Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 and above. 

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro draws its power from a 390mAh battery unit that is claimed to offer 18 days of typical usage and 9 days of heavy use. In GPS mode, the wearable device is capable of lasting up to 40 hours. The smartwatch can be charged via a magnetic charging base.

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro is offered in Meteorite Black, Desert Grey and Steel Blue colours. It carries a price tag of RM 659 (~Rs 11,583) and will be available for purchase from April 4th on the brand’s official store in Malaysia.

In India, the T-Rex Pro will be available on Amazon and Amazfit India’s website. Interested users can sign up for the ‘Notify me’ option to know when the smartwatch will become available.
