Amazon launches all-new Kindle with adjustable front light for Rs 7,999

Amazon has finally upgraded its entry-level Kindle device. The all-new Kindle (10th-gen) now comes with an adjustable front light, making it the first basic Kindle to get this feature.

Amazon All-new Kindle: specifications and features

The all-new Kindle is kitted with a 6-inch glare-free display with a pixel density of 167ppi. The display has an optimised font technology and 16-level grayscale. It has a capacitive touch to avert accidental swipes. The e-book reader has 4GB of storage and an updated electronic ink technology for better contrast. The company promises a long battery life of up to four weeks on a single charge. It has four adjustable LED front lights to ease the reading process in extreme sunlight and dark situations.

Amazon All-new Kindle launched

Its features include Whispersync to synchronise all the activities from Kindle ebooks to all Kindle devices and apps, Goodreads integration, X-Ray which helps in highlighting all passages with relevant keywords and ideas, and Smart Lookup which integrates literal definitions to the other reference information. Amazon Prime members get free and unlimited access to ebooks or comics with Prime Reading.

Jayshree Gururaj, Director, Amazon Devices said, “Customers who have used the front light on the Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis appreciate being able to read their favourite books in bright sunlight as well as dark surroundings. We are excited to announce that we have now brought the built-in adjustable front light feature to our all-new Kindle along with other classic features that customers love.”

Amazon All-new Kindle: price and availability

The new Kindle is priced at Rs 7,999 and comes in two colours – Black and White. It is currently on pre-order, and customers who do so before April 9th will get their first eBook free. They will also get a two-year Device Total protection plan worth Rs 1,199 for free. Amazon has also launched woven fabric covers for the new Kindle in charcoal black, sandstone white, cobalt blue, and punch red colours, and these are priced at Rs 1,499. Would you like to try the all-new Kindle?
