Amazon has launched a new Alexa-driven device today. The Echo Dot Kids Edition is a roundcolourful speaker with interesting features for children.
Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition: features
The new speaker is 70 percent louder than its predecessor, claims Amazon. It also has a one-year free subscription of FreeTime Unlimited, that provides Alexa features exclusively for kids. Additionally, the service provides complete control to the parents while offering numerous non-Echo features on Fire tablets and other children-specific devices. With FreeTime Unlimited, kids can get exclusive access to Baby Shark Adventures by Pinkfong, Disney Publishing and Ghost Busters by Sony.
Amazon has also added some new features to the FreeTime Unlimited service including new reports of National Geographic and News-o-Matic. Kids just have to ask “Alexa, what’s my news?” and the smart assistant will read news from these two channels. With these features, a new Alexa Skill Blueprints has also been added. Using the Blueprints feature, children can curate a special adventure story from an available template with their parents. For Prime consumers, the FreeTime Unlimited parental control service will cost $3 or (~Rs 200) per month. However, the service will cost $5 (~Rs 350) per month for non-Prime members.
