Amazon, which is the largest e-commerce website in the world launched its Prime services in India in the year 2016. With Amazon Prime, customers gained access to a lot of added advantages over conventional online shopping such as free One-day delivery, early access to deals and better discounts. The company now has a new pricing scheme for people willing to give the service a try. Apart from the added shopping benefits, Amazon Prime also offers access to Amazon Prime Video and the recently launched Amazon Prime Music. Both services offer advertisement-free content for free with the Prime membership.
At launch, anyone with an Amazon account could avail the service at an introductory offer price of Rs. 499. This offer ended after a year in October 2017 after which the price was revised to Rs. 999 for the annual subscription. For a month after the revised price, the e-commerce giant did offer a cashback of Rs. 500 into the Amazon Pay wallet bringing the effective price to the Introductory Offer. As of now, if you wish to get the Amazon Prime subscription or renew your existing one, you would have to shell out Rs. 999.
But wait, if you are a new user and willing to give the service a trial spin, you needn’t get a full year’s subscription. You can now opt for a monthly subscription for just Rs. 129. This is also helpful if you are looking to get the subscription for anything less than 6 months.
Amazon has stated that it will auto-renew the subscription at the end of the month through the payment method used to purchase it. Users will be notified 3 days prior to the end of the month and they will be able to opt out.
