Android 7.1.1 Nougat software update hits Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL

Taiwanese handset maker Asus has begun rolling Android 7.1.1 Nougat over-the-air update to its Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL). To recall, the phone made its way to in India back in November last year. The OTA update weighs 1.5GB in size and brings Google’s latest security patch. That aside, the update also fixes bugs and brings software level improvements.

The software update (version 14.0200.1704.119) brings all the bells and whistles of Google’s fairly recent Android iteration. Some of these features include split-screen multitasking, customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, and recent applications window.

Furthermore, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max now receives ‘Double Tap’ feature that makes it easy to switch between the most recent apps. It also brings ‘Doze on the go’ feature for better battery optimisation, thanks to Android Nougat. You can also manually check if your device has received an update. All you need to do is go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

Specs-wise, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max boasts of a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 430 octa-core chip,3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, and 4,100mAh battery. The Zenfone 3 Max is currently retailing at Rs 13,199.
