Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has unveiled AirPods Pro, a new addition to the AirPods portfolio. The AirPods Pro were rumored to launch this month. Apple’s new true wireless earbuds come with a new design, features, and a higher price tag. The AirPods Pro will compete against the likes of Sony, Bose and others in the truly wireless segment. Unlike the current AirPods, the AirPods Pro feature an all-new design which includes flexible ear tips for a secured, sealed in-ear fit. Apple has included three sizes of silicone tips in the box. Apple also says that the AirPods Pro come with a ‘Ear Tip Fit Test’ which detects if the user has chosen the right-sized ear tip through an advanced algorithm that measures the sound level in the ear and compares it to what is coming from the speaker driver. There is also an ‘Adaptive EQ’ feature which tunes the music to the shape of the user’s ear. The AirPods Pro are sweat and water-resistant too.
The new AirPods Pro come with an active noise cancellation feature that is found in premium headphones. They are equipped with two microphones in each earbud that detect and eliminate external sound and let the user listen to music in noisy environments. Apple says that noise cancellation is adjusted up to 200 times per second. The AirPods Pro feature a Transparency Mode as well, which allows users to listen to music and hear surrounding sound simultaneously. The new AirPods come with a force sensor on the stem, which allows users to switch between noise cancellation and Transparency mode, and also control music playback.
The AirPods Pro are powered by an H1 chipset and offers hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ voice commands. The latest AirPods have the same battery life as regular AirPods with up to 5 hours of listening time on a full charge. In the Active Noise Cancellation mode, the device delivers up to 4.5 hours of listening time and up to 3.5 hours of talk time on a single charge. Like the second-gen AirPods, the AirPods Pro also support wireless charging that offers up to 24 hours of listening time with the charging case. The wireless earbuds are chargeable via a Lightning connector, and Apple has bundled a Lightning to USB-C charging cable in the box.
The AirPods Pro are compatible with Apple devices running iOS 13.2 or later, iPadOS 13.2 or later, watchOS 6.1 or later, tvOS 13.2 or later, or macOS Catalina 10.15.1 or later.
AirPods Pro price in India
The AirPods Pro carry a price tag of Rs 24,900 and can be availed from Apple Authorised Resellers. The device will start shipping from October 30th and will be available through Apple Premium Resellers soon.
