Apple confirms 5G support rollout timeline for iPhones in India
5G compatible devices don’t mean that they support connectivity out of the box. Brands are required to release software updates that activate the cellular network. Apple says that it needs to complete network validation and testing for quality and performance before it rolls out the update for its devices.
The Cupertino-based giant has confirmed that it will push the software update to enable 5G network on the iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 series, and the iPhone SE 2022.
In a statement, Apple said “We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed. 5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December.”
Apart from iPhones, Apple did not reveal any details about the update for the 5th gen iPad Air which also supports 5G but we can expect it to get at the same time as the iPhones.
