At Apple’s iPhone 11 launch event in Cupertino, California, the company has taken the covers off the 7th-generation iPad. It features a larger 10.2-inch Retina display (compared to 9.7-inches on previous-gen models) with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,620 pixels, 500 nits of brightness and an oleophobic coating. It also comes with support for the Apple Pencil, and a smart connector that lets you connect the full-sized Smart Keyboard that folds into a protective cover.
It’s powered by the A10 Fusion chip with an M10 co-processor, and will come in both 32GB and 128GB variants. There’s support for dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and Gigabit LTE.
As for the camera, you get an 8MP primary shooter with f/2.4 aperture and HDR. The front FaceTime camera is a 1.2MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and Retina flash. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor for authentication is also carried forward from the previous models.
The iPad 2019 comes with the new iPadOS, which offers features like a redesigned homescreen, advanced multi-tasking gestures, desktop-class apps, support for external USB drives, Dark mode and more.
The new iPad will be available in silver, space gray and gold colours. It is priced starting at Rs 29,900 for the Wi-Fi model and Rs 40,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The Apple Pencil is priced at Rs 8,500.
