Right on cue, Apple has launched its latest lineup iPhones at Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California tonight. These phones are dubbed iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Coming in as successors to last year’s iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, the newest iPhones bring plenty of upgrades in terms of design and specifications.
Apple iPhone 11 specifications
The Apple iPhone 11 is the base variant of the lineup this year and is equipped with a Liquid Retina LCD panel like that on the iPhone XR with True Tone and wide colour support. Driving the performance of the handset is the new A13 Bionic SoC, which Apple claims offers a 20 percent faster CPU and GPU than the A12. The iPhone 11 is made of toughened glass and steel, featuring an IP68 rating that allows it to survive under 2 metres of water for 30 minutes.
Coming to the cameras, the iPhone 11 sports a dual-camera setup on the rear panel featuring two 12-megapixel iSight cameras in a square module, one an f/1.8 wide-angle and the other an f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens. You will find another 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front for selfies with 4K Video and Slow Motion. The native camera app is loaded with features like HDR, Portrait mode with various filters, Night mode, 4K video recording, Quick Video and more. On the software front, the latest iPhone boots the newest iOS 13 out of the box. Other features include a Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LTE and dual-SIM with eSIM support. Face ID has also been improved, and is now 30 percent faster. Apple claims that the iPhone 11 will have one hour longer battery life than iPhone XR. The iPhone 11 comes in six colours – purple, green, yellow, black, white and PRODUCT(RED).
Apple iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max Specifications
The Apple iPhone 11 Pro succeeds the iPhone XS and retains the same display size and resolution. The device ships with a 5.8-inch Super Retina XDR screen with 2,436 x 1,125 pixels resolution and HDR10. The performance is powered by the A13 Bionic chipset and comes with Face ID for security. Apple claims that the battery lasts 4 hours more than the iPhone XS. This time around, the brand is providing 18W fast charger with the phone. The material used on this is textured matt glass and stainless steel with same IP68 rating.
The square camera module on the back houses three 12-megapixels cameras including f/2.0 telephoto, f/1.8 wide and f/2.4 ultra-wide lenses. On the front, there is another f/2.2 12-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The camera features are identical to the iPhone 11 with the exception of Deep Fusion, which is a Neural Engine for computational imaging. The remaining spec sheet also remains identical to that of the iPhone 11. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is the top-end variant, which shares its specifications with the iPhone 11 Pro except for a larger 6.5-inch display with 2,688 x 1,242 pixels screen resolution and a bigger battery that lasts 5 hours longer than iPhone XS Max. Both smartphones will be available in midnight green, space grey, silver and gold finishes.
