Apple iPhone 14 launch and sale dates tipped, Watch Series 8 to tag along

Highlights

  • The date for Apple’s upcoming fall event has been tipped
  • The company could announce the iPhone 14 on Wednesday this year instead of Tuesday
  • The same event will also see the launch of the Apple Watch Series 8

Apple iPhone 14 series launch date and sale date have been tipped. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone 14 series in the second week of September. Tagging along the flagship iPhone 14 lineup will be the Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple usually follows its tradition of launching the iPhone series on the first or second Tuesday of September every year. However, this year, the company reportedly has different plans.

iPhone 14 launch and sale dates tipped

Gurman says that this year Apple will launch the iPhone 14 series on September 7th, which falls on Wednesday instead of the previously tipped September 6th (Tuesday) launch date. This suggests that the brand may be steering away from its usual product launch events that take place on Tuesdays. The upcoming fall launch event will be highlighted by the iPhone 14 series along with the Apple Watch Series 8.

The Bloomberg journalist also reports that Apple has told its corporate staff that they need to work in person for three days starting September 5th. Additionally, the pre-recoding of the upcoming event has also begun hinting at an online-only event again this year instead of an in-person gathering.

Apple’s iPhone 14 lineup is expected to consist of two non-Pro and two Pro variants. As per rumours and leaks, the Pro models will have significant upgrades, including a new design, upgraded camera technology, and a faster chipset. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 8 is tipped to include three models, including an all-new Pro variant with a more rugged build.

Gurman added that Apple usually releases the iPhones in stores a week and a half after unveiling them. The company is expected to stick to the same pattern, and some retail store employees have been told to prepare for a significant new product release on September 16th.

Bloomberg also reports that Apple will hold another event in October where it will announce a low-cost iPad, updated iPad Pro models, and new Mac computers.
