Although Apple’s next iPhone refresh is still months away, the rumour mill is abuzz with leaks and other information about Apple’s next-generation flagships. But we’re now learning some new information on next year’s iPhone, i.e., the iPhone 16 series. The revelation comes in the form of a new Bloomberg newsletter penned by Mark Gurman, an analyst and a well-known name in the Apple community.
According to Gurman, Apple may decide to launch a new model known as the iPhone 16 Ultra, positioned above the Pro and Pro Max variants. However, Gurman doesn’t have the details on how different this new iPhone model would be from its Pro siblings. One theory is that Apple could pack in better cameras, a larger display, etc., to justify its existence. But since it’s still too early in the day, we can’t be fully sure if Apple will go through with this plan.

As eagle-eyed observers would know, there have been reports of Apple getting rid of the Pro Max version with the iPhone 15 series this year in favour of a new Ultra model. Given the uncertainty revolving around this fresh rumour, we recommend you take it with a sizeable dosage of salt.
What else do we know about the iPhone 15 series so far?
A report last month suggested that Apple may step up its game this year with the addition of curved edge displays across the iPhone 15 lineup. We’ve also heard about Dynamic Island no longer being a Pro/Pro Max exclusive, with the feature spreading to all variants in the iPhone 15 lineup. Another bit of rumour that likely won’t surprise anyone is that Apple may hike the prices of its new iPhones this year.
We expect to learn more about the iPhone 15 series in the months to come.
