Apple recently launched its much-anticipated affordable iPhone called the iPhone SE in India last night. The smartphone has been trending online for a while now as the iPhone SE 2 and iPhone 9 with numerous leaks and speculations doing the rounds. Apple decided to launch the phone with the same moniker – iPhone SE – even though it is the successor to the original iPhone SE from 2016. Moreover, with a price tag starting at Rs 42,500, the new iPhone SE is one of the most affordable offerings from the Cupertino-based brand. Now, the brand has confirmed the pricing of the other two variants as well for the Indian market.

Apple had already announced that the base 64GB variant of the latest iPhone will come with a sticker price of Rs 42,500 in India. The smartphone is also being offered in 128GB and 256GB storage options. The former has been priced at Rs 47,800, while the 256GB storage model will set you back by Rs 58,300. Apple tends to price its phones higher in India than the US pricing, and this time’s inflated rates could also be partly due to the increased smartphone GST hike from 12 percent to 18 percent. As of now, there is no word on when the smartphone will go on sale in the country. You can pick between Black, White and PRODUCT (RED) colour variants.

Apple iPhone SE 2020 specifications and features

The Apple iPhone SE 2020 ships with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display that has thick bezels on top and bottom. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback. The bottom bezel houses the familiar Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The design is similar to the iPhone 8, which means it sports a glass back and supports wireless charging. Handling the performance of the device is the Apple Bionic A13 chipset, which also powers the flagship Apple iPhone 11 series. The newest iPhone also supports advanced features like Apple Arcade, AR capabilities and much more. Out of the box, the handset boots the latest iOS 13.

In the camera department, the phone ships with a 12MP camera along with LED flash on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. The camera app is loaded with features like portrait mode, portrait lighting, depth control and Smart HDR. Connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LTE and dual SIM with e-SIM support. However, the smartphone misses out on the 3.5mm headphone jack.
