Apple is expected to hold its first product event of 2022 on March 8th, as per a report by Bloomberg. The launch event will be virtual and three devices including the iPhone SE 3 5G, iPad Air 5, and a new Mac are expected.
Apple has a tradition of announcing new devices in spring every year. The Cupertino based giant is yet to confirm any details of its upcoming launch event or products. Let’s find out what we can expect from Apple’s March event that could be one month away.
Apple March event: what to expect
As mentioned earlier, Apple could unveil three new hardware devices next month. Firstly, the company is widely rumoured to launch iPhone SE 3 5G, the successor to the second-generation iPhone SE 2020. The smartphone’s leaked renders reveal an identical design to its predecessor, however, on the front, it is expected to be similar to the iPhone XR with a wide notch. The display has thin bezels and there is no Touch ID. The third generation SE is tipped to be powered by an A15 Bionic processor with support for 5G connectivity.
Alongside the iPhone SE 3 5G, Apple is expected to launch a refreshed iPad Air 5. It is a long-awaited successor to the 2020 iPad Air 4. Not many details are known about the next-generation iPad Air 5. However, the device is expected to be powered by a 5G-compatible A15 Bionic chipset and come with a 10.9-inch display. Apple is rumoured to announce a new Mac with its own in-house M1 silicon at the March event.
Besides hardware devices, Apple is also likely to publicly release iOS 15.4 with features like Face ID support for masks, Universal Control and new emojis for iPhones.
