- Apple iPhone SE 4 is said to be in the works
- A new leak reveals that it will feature a 6.1-inch display
- It will be a notched display like the recent iPhones
Apple iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to be in the works. In October 2021, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young claimed that the Cupertino-based company is gearing up to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE in 2024. At that time, he said that the device may feature a hole-shaped cutout for the selfie snapper.
In a new leak, Young revealed that the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with a notched display. Rumours surrounding the device have claimed that the iPhone SE 4 may lack a Touch ID sensor. Continue reading ahead to find out what’s known about the next iPhone SE model.
iPhone SE 4 to sport a 6.1-inch LCD display
The iPhone SE 2022, which went official earlier this year, has a 4.7-inch Retina IPS LCD display with thick at the top and bottom. According to Young, the iPhone SE 4 will house a 6.1-inch LCD panel, which will have a notch like the recent iPhones.
Some have speculated that the iPhone SE 4 will come with support for Face ID in the absence of a Touch ID sensor. However, some reports have claimed that it will also lack Face ID. Instead, it may debut as Apple’s first phone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Apple’s “SE” branded iPhones have used designs from older iPhones. For instance, the iPhone SE 2022 looks similar to the iPhone 8. Hence, it appears that the iPhone SE could be similar to the iPhone XR in terms of design. Apple products arriving in 2024 are expected to come equipped with a USB Type-C port. Hence, it is likely that the iPhone SE 2024 may feature a USB Type-C port.
So far, Apple has released three iPhone SE models. The most recent one is the iPhone SE 2022, which starts at Rs 43,900. It has a 4.7-inch Retina HD screen, an Apple A15 Bionic chip, a 7-megapixel front camera, a 12-megapixel rear camera, up to 256 GB of storage, a Touch ID sensor, and an IP67-rated chassis.
