Apple is expected to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air and 12-inch MacBook in 2023. The Cupertino-based tech giant will expand its lineup of laptops as reported by Bloomberg. People familiar with the matter told the publication.
Earlier this week, Apple announced the redesigned MacBook Air and updated MacBook Pro with its second-generation in-house M2 Silicon at WWDC. The brand currently offers the MacBook Air in 13.3 and 13.6-inch display options.
Apple to launch two new MacBook models next year
As per Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is tipped to debut the MacBook Air in a 15-inch display variant. This will make it the biggest MacBook Air from the brand since its inception. The company initially planned to release this model this year, however, the plans did not materialise and Apple instead launched the MacBook Air with a slightly bigger 13.6-inch display.
Additionally, Apple is also said to be working on a 12-inch MacBook. However, it’s unclear whether it is a Pro or Air version. For those unaware, back in 2019, Apple killed its 12-inch MacBook due to several issues with its keyboard and performance failures. Now, the company plans to bring its smallest laptop back.
The report adds that the 15-inch MacBook Air could go official in early 2023 at a Spring event. On the other hand, the 12-inch MacBook is tipped to launch towards the end of 2023 or in early 2024.
Apple aims to grab a bigger share in the PC market and beat competition like Lenovo, Dell, and HP. The company’s Mac sales have increased due to its in-house silicon chipsets.
