Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple One prices have increased. While the revised prices are in effect starting from today in various markets like the US and UK, Apple hasn’t increased the prices of these subscription services in India.
Apple says that the changes were required as licencing costs went up and its content libraries got bigger. The statement released by the company indicates that artists and content creators can expect to make more money per stream because of this change.
Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple One revised prices for the US
In the United States, Apple TV+ is now available for $6.99 (~Rs 580) per month. Its yearly plan is now priced at $69 (~Rs 5,790). Those who buy an iPhone, iPad, or Mac will continue to receive a three-month free subscription to Apple TV+. Students who avail the Apple Music plan also get free access to Apple TV+. In India, the Apple TV+ is currently priced at Rs 99 per month, which can be purchased after a seven-day trial.
Apple Music has received the first-ever price increase in the US. Individual and family plans cost $10.99 (Rs 910) and $16.99 (Rs 1,400), respectively, per month. Its yearly plan for individuals now costs $109 (~Rs 9,020). In India, these plans are priced at Rs 99 and Rs 149 per month, respectively. The voice-only and student-tier plans are priced at Rs 49 and Rs 59, respectively.
The Apple One bundle includes access to multiple services, such as Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, and iCloud+ storage. The single user (with 50GB iCloud+ storage), family (with 200GB iCloud+ storage), and Premier (with 2TB of iCloud+ storage, News+, and Fitness+) plans of Apple One are now priced at $16.99 (~Rs 1,400), $22.95 (~Rs 1,900). $32.95 (~Rs 2,730) per month, respectively. In India, these plans are priced at Rs 195 and Rs 365 per month, respectively. The Premiere plan of the Apple One is not available in India.
Prior to the price increase, the Apple TV+ was $4.99 ($413) per month, with a yearly plan costing $49.99 (Rs 4,140). The individual and family plans for Apple Music were priced at $9.99 (Rs. 830) and $16,99 (Rs. 1,400), respectively. Its yearly plan for individuals was previously priced at $99 (Rs 8,190). The Apple One single-user and family plans were previously priced at $14.95 (~Rs 1,240) and $19.95 (~Rs 1,650) per month, respectively.
The prices of Apple iCloud+ storage plans have not increased in the US. The 50GB, 200GB, and 2TB iCloud+ plans are priced at $0.99 (~Rs 80), $2.99 (~Rs 250), and $9.99 (~Rs 830) per month, respectively. In India, these plans are priced at Rs 75, Rs 219, and Rs 749 per month, respectively.
