There are several reports that Apple may take the wraps off next-generation MacBooks next week. While the company hasn’t made any comment on these reports, technology website Recode has confirmed that Apple will be introducing new Macs at the October 27th event. It is also expected that the new Macs will go on sale starting this month itself.
Apple generally releases new operating system followed by the launch of new MacBooks shortly thereafter. Hence, these reports aren’t much of a surprise considering that Apple released MacOS Sierra last month.
It has been quite some time since Apple made any changes to its MacBook models. Also, there are rumours that Apple may also deliver Touch ID support and a new OLED touch panel above the keyboard.
The new MacBooks running the MacOS Sierra will come with the Siri voice assistant. It will also allow users to copy and paste between iOS and MacOS devices. You many also want to check our recent story on five features of MacOS Sierra for which one must update from El Capitan.
It is also expected that Apple may have this upcoming event at or near its Cupertino campus instead of San Francisco, where the company launched Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. There is a possibility that Apple may discontinue the 11-inch MacBook Air.
