Apple TV 4K has launched in India. It arrives as the successor to the last year’s version. The latest generation streaming device packs performance upgrades while also being cheaper compared to its predecessor.
Apple TV 4K specifications and features
The Apple TV 4K has the same box-shaped design as the company’s Mac Mini. It comes with a bundled Siri Remote with a touch-enabled clickpad that offers quick navigation of Apple TV’s user interface. The remote also features a USB-C port for charging instead of a Lightning connector.
The Apple TV 4K now supports HDR10+ standards alongside the existing Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG formats. On the audio front, the streaming device also supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital 7.1 or 5.1.
Under the hood, the Apple TV 4K is equipped with an A15 Bionic processor. It is said to offer 50 percent faster CPU and 30 percent faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor. The device is offered in 64GB and 128GB storage options with the former offering WiFi-6 connectivity and the latter also having Gigabit Ethernet with support for thread mesh networking protocol for controlling compatible smart home devices.
Apple said that it will roll out tvOS 16 for the latest streaming device later this fall. It will bring new features like Siri updates that will enable customers to use their voice to control Apple TV.
Apple TV 4K price in India
The Apple TV 4K 64GB WiFi-only version is priced at Rs 14,900. The 128GB WiFi+Ethernet model costs Rs 16,900. It’s already available for pre-order from Apple’s official website and authorised resellers in India with shipments commencing from November 4th.
