Apple TV is now available on Android TVs. This means that the Cupertino giant’s OTT platform will be compatible with Google’s Android-powered televisions.

Android TV users can now enjoy shows and movies that are exclusively available on Apple TV. The streaming service is also available on Nvidia’s Shield TV as well as streaming boxes and sticks, including the Fire TV Stick range (review). Xiaomi also confirmed that the app is coming to its entire range of televisions.

Apple TV app released on Android TV
The Apple TV has been released on Android-powered televisions, set-top boxes and streaming devices. The availability of the streaming service on the Android TV platform has been long due since its launch. Its key competitors including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ are already available on all Android TVs.
With Apple TV, users can access a catalogue of shows and movies as well as view channels like AMC+, Paramount+ and more. There is also an Apple TV+ subscription service that is home to the brand’s exclusive shows including Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Servant and more.
Apple TV is shareable with up to six family members using their personal Apple ID and password. It also works with Google Assistant so users can give voice commands and control the app hands-free.

It’s worth noting that any smart TV running on Android TV 8 or higher is compatible with the Apple TV app. Users will need to subscribe to the service that costs Rs 99 per month in India to access the streaming platform. Apple also provides a 7-day free trial.
