Apple Watch Series 7

Apple Watch Series 7 launched as the most durable Apple Watch ever

The Apple Watch Series 7 comes with a similar design as its predecessor. However, this time the display literally stretches to the edge of the chassis. Moreover, Apple claims that the bezels are now just 1.7mm thin, which is 40 percent slimmer than those on the Apple Watch Series 6. Additionally, the Always-on display is 70 percent brighter indoors and the screen can fit 50 percent more text than the Watch Series 6. To demonstrate the size of the screen, Apple demoed a full keyboard with support for swiping. Apple has also included two new watch faces called Contour and Modular Duo, designed specifically for the larger display.

The display is protected by crack-resistant crystal glass and the smartwatch comes with an IP6X rating for dust resistance and WR50 water resistance rating. Apple claims that this is the most durable Apple Watch to date. This year Apple has increased the dial size to 41mm and 45mm, which means the Watch Series 7 is also the largest Apple Watch to come from the brand.

On the fitness front, the Apple Watch Series 7 comes with 10 activity modes including HIIT, dance, Pilates, and Tai Chi, to name a few. Additionally, there are wellness features like sleep respiratory rate tracking, fall detection during workouts, heart rate monitor, ECG, blood oxygen, and mindfulness. Apple has improved the cycling mode on the Watch Series 7 so that it can now detect when you stop for a drink break and pauses the workout.

The Apple Watch Series 7 runs on watchOS 8. While Apple has not revealed the battery capacity of the Watch Series 7, the brand announced rated battery life of up to 18 hours, which is the same as the Watch Series 6. Additionally, there’s a new USB Type-C-based fast charging, which is 33 percent faster and Apple claims that eight minutes of charging can offer up to eight hours of sleep tracking.

Apple Watch Series 7 pricing and availability

The Apple Watch Series 7 starts from $399 (~Rs 29,400) and will be made available later this fall season. There are five new aluminum colours this year including midnight, starlight, green, blue and (PRODUCT)RED
