Apple’s WWDC is usually aimed at developers. Like every year, the company announces the next version of its software for devices like iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, Macs etc. The OS versions get a release date in the fall which is around the same time Apple launches new models of iPhones and Apple Watch.

At its heart, WWDC has always been a forum to create connection and build community,” Apple Vice President Susan Prescott said in a statement.

The company will host a special day for developers and students at Apple Park on June 6th to watch the keynote and State of the Union videos together. This year also Apple is conducting Swift Student Challenge for students who love to code. The Apple WWDC 2022 will be live streamed on the company’s official website and YouTube channel.

Apple WWDC 2022: what to expect

As usual, Apple hasn’t revealed what it will announce at the WWDC 2022. The annual developer conference is a software-focused event where the brand unveils new software versions for its hardware devices. This means we can expect to see iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, and more at the event.

Apple is also expected to make a surprise hardware announcement at WWDC 2022 considering its past track record. The company could introduce its long-rumoured mixed reality (MR) headset. It may also announce the M2 processor which will arrive as the successor to the M1. Apple is also reportedly working on Mac Pro with M1 Ultra chip.
