Recently, ASUS was barred from selling ‘Zen’ branded products in India after an interim order by the Delhi HC. The company is currently working to resolve the trademark lawsuit. However, it looks like the court order will not delay the launch of its upcoming flagship, the ZenFone 6. Instead, the company has announced the launch of the ASUS 6z in India on June 19th, which is a rebranded ZenFone 6. A dedicated landing page on Flipkart has also gone live.
The Flipkart microsite reveals the complete specifications of the ASUS 6z. The flagship smartphone will come with a notch-less display measuring 6.4-inches and bearing FHD+ resolution. The device sports a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is a physical fingerprint scanner on the back panel. The ASUS 6z features a unique motorised flip camera module that houses a 48MP main sensor (Sony IMX586) and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The Flip camera also functions as a front camera where the module flips up towards the front.
As for the internals, the ASUS 6z will be driven by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The smartphone draws its power from a mammoth 5,000mAh battery unit with support for QuickCharge 4.0 for fast charging
The ZenFone 6 price starts at roughly Rs 40,000 in Europe. We expect the pricing of the ASUS 6z to be slightly less or similar. The device will compete against the OnePlus 7 Series and Pixel 3a devices in the price segment. We are just a few days away from the launch of ASUS 6z, so stay tuned to Pricebaba.
