ASUS is launching its latest flagship in India on June 19th. The ASUS 6Z is a rebranded ASUS ZenFone 6, with a motorised flip camera, fullscreen display and humongous battery. With the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor under its hood, the phone is a fully loaded successor to the ASUS ZenFone 5Z. With the launch just a couple of days away, here are its best features to look forward to:
1. Motorised Flip camera module
The main USP of the ASUS 6Z is its motorised flip camera module. The setup consists of a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture paired with a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The module functions as a selfie camera by flipping seamlessly towards the front. The setup is capable of clicking photos in vertical and horizontal panorama as it can be controlled easily via onscreen gestures and volume buttons. Additionally, the camera module features motion tracking, authomatically moving and focussing on the subject. Speaking of video, the camera can capture 4K video at 60fps, and slo-motion videos up to 480fps.
2. An “all screen” phone
Over the last year, notches on smartphones were all the rage. Now, there’s a move towards fullscreen displays, and the ASUS 6Z is an example of the same. The phone has a nearly bezel-less display without a notch, thanks to its motorised flip camera module. The LCD panel is 6.4-inches in size with an FHD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a whopping 92 percent screen to body ratio. The aspect ratio of the display is 19.5:9 and it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection.
3. Loaded internals with a flagship processor
The ASUS 6Z is kitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, clocked at 2.84GHz. The premium processor is supported by an Adreno 640 GPU. The phone will have multiple variants with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. With such impressive internals, the phone will be a direct competitor to the newly-launched OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro (review).
4. Mammoth battery with Fast Charging
The ASUS 6Z is equipped with a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 4.0. With this capacity, the upcoming flagship should last for long hours of gaming, content streaming and other heavy activities. The company has already claimed the battery can last for 2 days of non-stop use. The phone carries support for USB Type-C. The ASUS ZenFone 5Z had a 3,300mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 3.0. In this aspect, the company has definitely made an upgrade with its upcoming smartphone.
5. Refreshed UI with nearly stock Android interface
Android users love stock Android and there are no two ways about it. In order to fulfil this need, ASUS has refreshed its ZenUI to match the stock experience. The ASUS 6Z will run Android 9.0 Pie with minimum bloatware and timely updates. A system-wide dark mode is among the added perks, as is a customisable smart key located on the right edge. Those who prefer phones like the Google Pixel 3a for its stock experience will find the ASUS 6Z as a compelling alternative.
With these features and the expected price below Rs 40,000, the device is looking like one of the best affordable flagships. Stay tuned to Pricebaba to know all about this device’s launch and more.
