Asus, the Taiwanese OEM discreetly unveiled a new smartphone which will go by the name of Pegasus 4S. This smartphone was previously spotted on Chinese registration website TENAA last month. The Pegasus 4S is the first phone from Asus to feature a bezel-less display featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio. On the design front, the Asus Pegasus 4S features a metal unibody design with the fingerprint sensor located on the back. Also on the back is where its dual-camera setup is located, accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, it sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display rocking a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels bringing its pixel density to about 282.45 PPI. To top it off, the phone features 2.5D glass to add to its usability. It also bears some striking resemblance to the Galaxy S8 owing to its reduced bezels on all sides.
Underneath its hood, the offering from Asus sports an octa-core MediaTek MT6750T chipset ticking at 1.5GHz. Coupled with that, Asus has offered either a combination of 4 GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage.
In the camera department, the Pegasus 4S seems to have ticked the right checkboxes and as mentioned earlier features two cameras on the back. This dual-rear camera setup comprises of an 8-megapixel sensor paired with a 16-megapixel one. The camera is capable of recording up to 1080p resolution footage. On the front side, it rocks an 8-megapixel selfie snapper which should be capable of capturing some decent images.
As far as software is concerned, the phone will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat and should get a taste of Android Oreo soon enough. As far as the battery goes, the phone draws its power from a large 4,030 mAh battery pack which should suffice it for a day’s use on a single charge.
