Taiwanese electronics brand ASUS had unveiled the ROG Phone II (first impressions) back in September in India. The gaming smartphone was launched in two RAM and storage configurations of 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. The former variant was available for purchase from September 30th, but ASUS hadn’t announced the sale date of the higher-end version at the time of launch. Now two months after launching the ROG Phone II, the brand has announced that the 12GB + 256GB model will go on sale on Flipkart from December 11th. It is priced at Rs 59,999 and will come with a 30W fast charger and an AeroActive Cooler II in the box worth Rs 1,999 and Rs 3,999 respectively.

The ROG Phone II is the successor to the first generation ROG Phone that debuted last year. It boasts a 6.59-inch AMOLED display bearing FHD+ resolution with HDR10 support. The device features a 120Hz refresh rate panel for smoother animations. In terms of design, the ROG Phone II comes with a glossy back panel. There is a customisable RGB logo located in the centre and the sides of the phone have touch-sensitive ‘AirTriggers’. The ROG Phone II is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the ROG Phone II is equipped with a Snapdragon 855+ chipset paired with an Adreno 640 GPU. The device is available in 8GB and 12GB RAM options. The former offers 128GB onboard storage while the latter packs 512GB internal storage. The ROG Phone II draws its power from a 6,000mAh battery with support for 30W HyperCharge fast charging. The device runs Android 9 Pie with ROG UI on the top. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-C and NFC,
On the optics front, the ROG Phone II comes with a dual-camera setup on the rear. It comprises of a 48MP IMX586 sensor accompanied by a 13MP super-wide angle lens. The device is fitted with a 24MP front snapper for selfies.
