ASUS ROG Phone 2 with 120Hz display reportedly launching on July 23rd

ASUS redefined the gaming smartphone industry with its ROG Phone, which was launched last year. The smartphone was the first gaming phone to be launched in India and also the first to feature a 90Hz display. Apart from the flagship-grade specifications, the smartphone also boasted many exciting gaming features including a unique 3D Vapour Cooling Chamber. While it might seem that it must be a tall order for ASUS to precede the first ROG Phone’s reputation, it seems the company has managed to do just that. The next-generation ASUS ROG Phone 2 is expected to be the first smartphone to flaunt an incredible 120Hz display. If the recent leak is to be believed, the smartphone will be launched next month on July 23rd.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 price

The gaming smartphone from ASUS is expected to arrive in two variants and will be launched at an event in Beijing. As far as prices are concerned, the Asus ROG ROG 2 is expected to be priced at 4,399 Yuan (!Rs 44,389). Furthermore, ASUS will also be promoting the ROG Phone 2 at the ChinaJoy 2019 expo in Shanghai. The expo starts on August 1st and will host 400,000 eSports players.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 specifications

The ROG Phone 2 will come with a 120Hz refresh rate, as mentioned earlier. As of now, other details about the upcoming ROG Phone are still under the wraps. However, it is safe to presume that the new gaming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, which will be paired to 12GB of RAM. ASUS might also come up with a much more advanced and efficient thermal management system.

To recap, the current-generation ASUS ROG Phone features a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen with 18:9 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood lies a Snapdragon 845 SoC mated to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device also features a 3D vapour-chamber cooling system and dual-front firing speakers. Moreover, the X Mode dedicates all the processing prowess to the gaming and thus ensures a lag-free gaming experience.
