ASUS had launched the ROG Phone 2 in China in July last year. Now the Taiwanese smartphone maker has announced its partnership with Tencent on Weibo for the next generation ROG Phone 3. The gaming smartphone is confirmed to launch next month although the exact date has not been announced yet. Just like its predecessor, the upcoming ROG Phone 3 will be deeply customisable by Tencent.

In the announcement, Tencent stated that it will partner with Republic of Gamers in China to bring hardware performance optimisations of its games to create a more immersive gaming experience. Tencent has developed games like PUBG, Call of Duty: Mobile and many other games.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 will debut in China next month

The announcement doesn’t share any technical specifications of the upcoming ROG Phone 3. However, the device was spotted on a TENAA listing a few days ago. We can expect official details about the smartphone in the coming days.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 specifications and features

According to the listing, the ROG Phone 3 will sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED display bearing FHD+ resolution. It is expected to feature a 120Hz refresh rate panel and come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. In the imaging department, the ROG Phone 3 is tipped to come with a 64MP triple camera setup and a 13MP front facing camera.

Being a gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 3 will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC but rumours suggest that it could be the first phone to arrive with Snapdragon 865+ chipset. The smartphone is expected to pack up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage capacity. Lastly, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery and run Android 10 out of the box.
