ASUS ROG Phone 3 with Snapdragon 865 Plus and 144Hz display launched in India: price, specifications

ASUS has launched its third-generation ROG Phone 3 gaming smartphone in India. The latest ROG gaming smartphone comes is the first device in the country to be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset. While the device follows the same design philosophy, as its predecessor, the ROG Phone 2, it brings in several upgrades on the hardware front.

Apart from the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, the ROG Phone 3 also features a 144Hz display, massive 6,000mAh battery, triple rear camera setup and dual front-firing speakers. The ASUS ROG Phone 3 in India starts at Rs 49,999 and will be available from Flipkart.

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 comes with a 6.59-inch 19.5:9 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. The Gorilla Glass 6 protected screen offers a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and is HDR10+ certified. The ROG Phone 3 also sports in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

The performance of the ROG Phone 3 is handled by the latest 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, which is the first to cross the 3GHz clock speed with its 3.1GHz frequency. The latest processor is claimed to be 10 percent faster than the standard Snapdragon 865 SoC. The processor is accompanied by Adreno 650 graphics, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The smartphone offers several gaming-centric features like improved AirTrigger 3 and Ultrasonic buttons, dual USB Type-C ports (side and bottom), GameFX audio tuning, ASUS Armoury Crate gaming portal, Game Genie, HyperFusion technology for better network and more.

Coming to the optics, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 is equipped with a triple camera module on the back panel. There’s a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary camera, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with real-time distortion correction and a 5MP macro sensor. The top bezel on the front houses a 24MP camera for selfies and video calling.

Out of the box, the latest gaming smartphone boots Android 10 with ROG UI on top. Powering the device is a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 30W ROG HyperCharge fast charging.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 price in India

ASUS has launched the ROG Phone 3 in India in two configurations – 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. The former has been priced at Rs 49,999, whereas the top-end variant will set you back by Rs 57,999. The smartphone is available on Flipkart and will go on sale starting August 6th.

ASUS has also launched a bunch of accessories including the ROG Kunai Gamepad 3, which comes with four modular components for all possible gaming scenario. These include ROG Kunai 3 controller, ROG Kunai 3 Bumper, ROG Kunai 3 charger and ROG Kunai 3 grip. There’s a ROG TwinView Dock 3 dual-screen accessory, which comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED 144Hz screen, 5,000mAh battery, 3.5mm headphone jack and RGB LED.
