ASUS is all set to launch its fourth-generation ROG smartphone. It will be called the ROG Phone 5 instead of ROG Phone 3. Today, the Taiwanese brand has revealed that the upcoming gaming smartphone will debut on March 10th at 7pm Taipei time (4.30pm IST).

ASUS has set up a dedicated event page on its website. It shows a countdown to the launch event until March 10th. The landing page does not reveal any specifications of the smartphone apart from an RGB ROG logo.
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 will arrive as the successor to last year’s ROG Phone 3. It is tipped to launch in India next month, but the exact date is known at the moment.
ASUS ROG Phone 5 specifications and features
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 was spotted on Geekbench, the TENAA database and China’s 3C certification site. The former revealed that the smartphone will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 8GB and 16GB RAM.
According to the TENAA database, the gaming smartphone will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. It is expected to feature a 144Hz refresh rate screen and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device could sport 64MP triple rear cameras.
The ROG Phone 5 is rumoured to draw its powered by 3,000mAh dual-cell batteries that make up a total 6,000mAh battery unit. The 3C listing confirmed that the upcoming offering will support 65W fast charging.
The ROG Phone 5 is expected to ship with Android 11 out of the box. The smartphone is also expected to come with various gaming-centric features and accessories like its predecessor.
