ASUS launched the ROG Phone II (first impressions) in India last year. After the initial availability, the phone went off the shelves for several months, and there was no word on when it would be back in stock. The brand also sent out a notice earlier this year stating that “due to the disruption in the supply chain caused by the prevailing situation in Asia, ROG Phone II will face a temporary shortage.”
Now, the company has announced that the smartphone is back in stock again on Flipkart with a new price tag. While the new price is higher than the initial price of the smartphone, ASUS announced that it’s lower than what it should have been post the GST hike in India. For now, both the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 512GB have been listed on the e-commerce site with a coming soon tag.
ASUS ROG Phone II new price in India
ASUS has announced that the ROG Phone II will sell with a new price of Rs 39,999 and Rs 62,999 for the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 512GB variants, respectively. Notably, the ROG Phone II was launched at Rs 37,999 and Rs 59,999 for the same variants.
According to the brand, the pricing should have started from Rs 42,554 for the base variant after taking into account the 18 percent GST hike and Rupee depreciation. However, ASUS claims it is absorbing a certain percentage of the cost increase (Rs 2,555) for the base variant.
Both variants are listed with the new pricing on Flipkart and will go on sale as part of Flipkart’s “Big Saving Days”, which is scheduled between June 23rd to June 27th. ASUS is also offering a 10 percent instant discount on purchase of the ROG Phone II with HDFC bank cards and EMI transactions.
