Computex 2019: ASUS Announces ZenFone 6 Edition 30, ROG Strix XG17 and ZenScreen Touch portable monitors

As a part of its 30th anniversary, ASUS has also announced special edition products which include the ZenFone 6 and portable monitors ZenScreen Touch and ROG Strix XG17. The Zenfone 6 was launched earlier this month. The ZenScreen Touch can be connected to smartphones and laptops, while the ROG Strix XG17 is claimed to be the world’s first portable gaming monitor with 240Hz refresh rate.

Let’s take a look below at the devices.

Zenfone 6:

The ZenFone 6 is a limited edition 30th Anniversary of the regular ZenFone 6. The special edition device comes in a Matte Black color option. The back panel features a concentric-circle pattern with ergonomic 3D-curved glass. A 30th-anniversary logo is carved on the back to identify the exclusive edition. The main improvements come down to the internals. The 30th Anniversary edition comes with double the RAM and storage amount compared to the standard variant. It packs 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The device features an SD card slot for expanding storage up to 1TB.

The rest of the specifications remain the same as the standard variant. The device sports a 6.4-inch fullscreen display. It features a Flip camera mechanism comprising of 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and an ultra-wide secondary camera. The device houses a flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset and draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit. You can read the entire specs here.

ROG Strix XG17:

The ROG Strix XG17 is a 17.3-inch portable monitor bearing a 1080p resolution. It is the world’s first gaming monitor to feature a 240Hz refresh rate along with 3ms response time for smooth gaming. The monitor comes with built-in stereo speakers and offers micro-HDMI and two USB Type-C ports. It features a magnetic flip cover that turns the monitor into a kickstand. The ROG Strix XG17 is powered by a 7,800mAh internal battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0.

ZenScreen Touch:

The ZenScreen Touch is a smaller 15.6-inch version of the ROG Strix XG17. It packs stereo speakers and the same 7,800mAh battery which ASUS claims to last for four hours on maximum brightness. The ZenScreen Touch weighs only 0.9kgs and is 9mm thin. It features a hybrid-signal USB Type-C and Type-A connectivity along with a micro-HDMI port.

Users can mirror and take control of apps from Android phones on to the large screen via ZenScreen Touch app. It is compatible with devices running Android 6.0 and above. A wide range of devices such as laptops, smartphones, cameras, and consoles can be connected to the ZenScreen Touch.
