Qualcomm announced its flagship Snapdragon 865 mobile platform at the end of last year. The Snapdragon 865 chipset does not feature an integrated 5G modem and relies on the Snapdragon X55 5G modem for 5G connectivity. Other highlights of the chipset include enhanced AI, gaming boost, and advanced camera support. The SoC has featured on several recently announced 5G flagship phones from Samsung, Xiaomi, Sharp, Sony, Realme and iQOO. Now, Qualcomm has revealed a list of upcoming smartphones powered by the flagship SoC.
In a recent press release, Qualcomm listed out several smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 865. Among the unannounced phones listed are the ASUS ROG Phone 3, ASUS ZenFone 7, FCNT (Fujitsu Connected Technologies Limited) Arrows 5 and Lenovo Legion gaming phone.
Smartphones already launched with Snapdragon 865 include the Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Sharp AQUOS R5G, Sony Xperia 1 Mk II, Realme X50 Pro, iQOO 3 and ZTE Axon 10s Pro.
Qualcomm confirmed that there are over 70 designs powered by the Snapdragon 865 in the pipeline. The figures make sense since over 70 percent of premium Android smartphones today are powered by Snapdragon processors. The total number of Snapdragon 8-series mobile platform driven devices that have been announced and are in development devices has crossed 1,750 designs.
