ASUS Zenfone 9 has launched globally today. It arrives as the successor to the last year’s Zenfone 8. The latest offering packs significant upgrades over its predecessor.

Right off the bat, the ASUS ZenFone 9 retains the compact design from its predecessor. It features a 5.9-inch sAMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout at the left corner and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device has a boxy form factor and it is IP68 certified dust and water-resistant. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The power key features a touch sensor that lets users perform various other functions like scrolling through a website. Tapping the back panel also performs functions like opening camera, google assistant and more.
In the photography department, the ASUS ZenFone 9 sports large dual camera rings. It features a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor (with OIS) paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The device also comes with a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabiliser. It packs a light trail camera mode. On the audio front, the Zenfone 9 is equipped with dual stereo speakers with Qualcomm AptX lossless audio.
Under the hood, the ASUS ZenFone 9 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It packs 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device also comes with a heat pipe and vapour chamber for heat dissipation. The Zenfone 9 draws its power from a 4,300mAh battery unit with support for fast charging.
The ASUS Zenfone 9 also comes with a Connex phone case with a built-in kickstand and card holder. There is also a smart backpack mount that attaches the phone securely in place with a retractable cord.

The ASUS Zenfone 9 carries a starting price tag of EUR 799 (~Rs 64,700). The smartphone is offered in Moonlight White, Sunset Red, Stary Blue, and Midnight Black colours.
