ASUS ZenFone 9 has been spotted in an accidentally leaked promo video revealing key specifications and features. It was shared by the Taiwanese brand on its YouTube channel. The video has now been taken down but publication TechGoing was able to download it before.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 will arrive as the successor to the last year’s ZenFone 8 (review). The brand is yet to officially confirm any details about the upcoming ZenFone 9’s launch.

Right off the bat, the ASUS ZenFone 9 will retain the compact design from its predecessor. It will feature a 5.9-inch sAMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout at the left corner and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is seen with a boxy form factor and it is IP68 certified dust and water-resistant. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The video also shows a smart key that is used for swiping through a webpage.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 is seen with large dual camera rings. It will feature a Sony IMX766 sensor with Gimball technology. The device is also said to come with a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabiliser. It will pack a light trail camera mode. The upcoming offering is tipped to be equipped with dual stereo speakers.
The leaked video also demoes a smart backpack mount that attaches the phone securely in place with a retractable cord. The smartphone is also seen with a Connex phone case with a built-in kickstand and card holder.
As for the hardware, the ASUS ZenFone 9 will reportedly be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It will be backed by a 4,300mAh battery unit. Other specifics of the smartphone remain under wraps. However, we can expect more details of the ZenFone 9 to surface in the coming weeks now that the promo video has been accidentally leaked.
