Asus ZenFone Live with Real-Time Beautification Launched

Smartphone maker Asus has quietly unveiled the Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL). This phone was expected to be called the ZenFone Go but Asus seems to have changed its mind at the last moment. The device model ZB501KL is quite similar to the model number on the ZenFone Go. The last minute naming aside, Asus aims to target selfie users with this phone.

The highlight of the ZenFone live is its ability to provide real-time beautification mode. Asus claims that its optimized hardware coupled with real-time beautification technology makes this possible. The phone comes with a beautify app that eliminates wrinkles and blemishes and allows users to adjust skin tone in real-time. The app is capable of integrating with Facebook, YouTube and other streaming apps to apply beauty adjustments in real-time.

The ZenFone Live has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.4 microns. It has a wide 82-degree field of view. The front camera also gets a selfie flash. The phone also comes with two built-in MEMS microphones that enhance voice and reduce background noise while shooting.

The ZenFone Live has a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon processor and has 2GB of RAM onboard. The primary camera on the phone is a 13-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture and gets Real-Time Beautification mode and a DSLR-like manual setting. The phone comes in two storage options, 16GB and 32GB and the storage is further expandable up to 128GB. Asus also offers 100GB of Google Drive storage with the phone.

The Live has a metal unibody design and is packs in a 2650mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n and WiFi Direct. It is a dual SIM device and supports 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity. The ZenFone Live runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Zen UI on top and is available in Shimmer Gold, Rose Pink and Navy Black.
