Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB RAM Variant Goes on Sale, Here’s What is Different

Asus launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in April this year. It was received with tremendous demand among users and even we liked it (Read our full review). Back then, only the 3GB and 4GB RAM variants were launched but Asus had promised a 6GB RAM version soon. Finally, after a long wait, the brand has put out the highest variant model for sale. Apart from an increased RAM, the model also offers improved front and rear cameras. We tried it out to see how better this variant is and here’s what we think.

In our original verdict, we had mentioned that the camera performance is just decent. But Asus has pushed out various updates over the past few months which made it significantly better. Now, with improved hardware on this variant, the cameras are certainly up to the mark at this price point. Both, the rear as well as front cameras are improved. The selfie camera now has a 16-megapixel sensor whereas the primary rear camera is of 16-megapixel as well. Previously, the front was of 5-megapixel and the primary rear sensor was a 13-megapixel one. So, along with the RAM upgrade, you also get better cameras.

The overall performance while using any particular app seems virtually the same. This was expected since the higher RAM offers more caching and multi-tasking abilities rather than boosting performance for a single task. So if you’re someone who likes to dabble between a lot of apps at once, this will definitely be a better bet than the 4GB variant.

Rest of the specifications and features stay the same as that of the 4GB variant that we had reviewed a few months back, you can check out our full review here. Just for a quick glance, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ bezel-less display, runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset and has a massive 5000mAh battery. Another good advantage that it has is that it runs on stock Android 8.0 Oreo. Check out its full specifications here.

Price of the new Zenfone Max Pro M1 is set at Rs. 14,999 and it will be exclusively available via Flipkart on sale from today. You can purchase it in Deepsea Black and Grey colour variants. Have any questions about the device? Let us know in the comments below.
