Asus had unveiled its budget-centric phone, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 back in April this year. The Taiwan based company had launched the smartphone in two variants of 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and another with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The company also announced that a higher variant of 6GB RAM & 64GB storage will be launched later.
Now it seems that Asus is all set to launch the premium variant as it has been spotted on Flipkart’s website. The listing was spotted on e-commerce portal Flipkart by Smartprix. It shows that the product page is under construction and the launch seems imminent. The source code reveals that it will indeed be the 6GB RAM variant.
Apart from the higher RAM, the 6GB variant also comes with an upgrade in the camera department. It features a 16MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup while the base model offers 13MP + 5MP rear sensors. For selfies, the device is also fitted with an updated 16MP front camera instead of 13MP as seen on lower variants.
The rest of the technical specifications largely remain the same. It features a 5.99-inch bezel-less display. The Max Pro M1 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with Adreno 509 GPU. Coming to the storage, the 6GB RAM variant offers 64GB inbuilt storage as found on 4GB variant. There is a microSD card slot for expansion in case of additional storage needs. The device is powered by a 5000 mAh battery unit and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box. It offers a stock OS experience unlike other phones that are layered with the brand’s own Zen UI. There is a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature for unlocking the device securely.
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the closest rival to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 3GB is priced at Rs 10,999 while the 4GB variant costs Rs 12,999. The 6GB variant will carry a price tag of Rs 14,999 as revealed by Asus. We expect the company to launch the device very soon.
