ASUS Zenfone Max Shot and Max Plus M1 With Snapdragon SiP 1 Processor Announced

Taiwanese smartphone maker ASUS has announced two new smartphones in Brazil today. The devices are Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2. The former seems to be a new device in the company’s portfolio while the later is an upgraded variant of Zenfone Max Plus M1. In partnership with Qualcomm, the devices run on new system-in-package (SiP) processors. Let’s take a look at what the devices offer out of the box:

Zenfone Max Plus M2

Technical Specifications:

The Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2 are mostly identical in terms of specs. Both the devices sport a 6.26-inch display bearing full HD+ resolution and a regular notch on the top. The smartphones are available in four colour options – Silver, Black, Blue and Red.

In the camera department, the Zenfone Max Shot features a triple rear camera setup. It comprises of 12MP regular, 8MP wide-angle and a 5MP depth sensor. On the other hand, the Max Plus M2 features a 12MP primary + 5MP depth sensor. Up front, both the devices come with an 8MP snapper assisted by an LED flash for taking better selfies in low light.

Under the hood, both the smartphones are equipped with Qualcomm’s SiP 1 chipset. SiP processors are different from SoC (system-on-chip), with the former saving valuable space by bringing all major components in the single circuit, which is fitted on the motherboard. This helps OEM’s to add other major components inside the device. The SiP 1 is said to offer similar performance as the Snapdragon 450.

The Max Shot is available in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB configurations. The Max Plus M2 packs 3GB RAM and offers 32GB internal memory. Both the device feature a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.
