Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus added yet another phone under its Zenfone line — Asus Pegasus 3S. The company has introduced the successor of last year’s Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3 in China market. Last week during CES 2017, Asus unveiled two new smartphones — Asus Zenfone AR and Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom. Looking at the design, Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S appears to be an upgraded variant of 2016’s Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3. It flaunts an all-metal unibody design and front-mounted fingerprint reader, which then doubles up as the physical home button. Users can add up to fingerprint scanner for unlocking and mobile payments.
Specs wise, Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S features a 5.2-inch IPS HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) screen with 2.5D curved glass on top. Powering internally is a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chip combined with 3GB RAM. The device is available in two memory options — 32GB and 64GB, expandable up to 2TB using microSD. Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S is equipped with a 13MP rear snapper with a dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture. Up front is an 8MP front camera for selfies. The camera interface carries modes like HDR Pro and more. It also embraces the PixelMaster technology, said to be allowing intelligent shooting.
Packing inside is a bigger 5000mAh battery as opposed to 4100mAh in the earlier Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3. The battery is said to be capable of offering 30 days standby time and 48 hours intense usage. Assisting it is 5V / 2A fast charge with power saving modes. Running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S supports dual SIM and dual standby. Available connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, and microUSB 2.0 port. Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S will be available to purchase in China starting this month itself. It costs 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 19,670) for 64GB memory option.
