Ola Electric and Ather Energy, prominent EV manufacturers in India, have increased the prices of their electric vehicles (EVs) due to the reduction in subsidy benefits provided by the Indian Government under the FAME II scheme. In response, Bajaj and Hero Electric have also announced price hikes for their electric scooters, namely the Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida V1. Meanwhile, TVS has revealed an estimated price range of Rs 17,000 to Rs 22,000 for its iQube range of electric scooters, but the final prices are yet to be announced.
Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida V1 Pro Price Hike
Bajaj has implemented a price hike of Rs 22,000 on its Bajaj Chetak premium electric scooter, resulting in a revised ex-showroom price of Rs 1.44 lakh. Hero MotoCorp has also increased the prices of its Hero Vida V1 Pro electric scooter by Rs 6,000, bringing its ex-showroom price to Rs 1.46 lakh. However, in cities where higher state-wise subsidies are available, such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara, the Vida V1 Pro can still be purchased for Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom).
TVS is expected to announce its updated prices soon, as mentioned by the company’s Senior VP, Manu Saxena. Currently, the TVS iQube electric scooter is priced between Rs 1.06 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, after subsidy).
Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro Features
Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has revealed the exciting specifications of its latest electric scooter models, the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro. These cutting-edge scooters are designed to provide a seamless and eco-friendly commuting experience.
Equipped with a powerful 6kW PMSM motor featuring an integrated gearbox and controller, the Vida V1 scooters offer exceptional performance on the roads. With a sleek and compact design, the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro boast dimensions of 1630mm x 670mm x 740mm, providing optimal manoeuvrability in congested urban areas. The scooters are equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels on both the front and rear, ensuring stability and enhanced control.
The battery packs of the Vida V1 series are removable, providing convenience and flexibility for charging. The Vida V1 Plus is equipped with a 3.44kWh battery, while the Vida V1 Pro offers a larger 3.94kWh battery capacity. These batteries provide ample power to achieve impressive ranges, with the Vida V1 Plus offering up to 143km and the Vida V1 Pro delivering an impressive range of 165km on a single charge.

Charging the Vida V1 scooters is a breeze, with the option to charge at home. The scooters can be fully charged in approximately 5 hours and 55 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Safety and comfort are also prioritized in the Vida V1 series. The scooters feature telescopic front suspension and spring coil rear suspension, offering a smooth and stable ride even on uneven terrains. Disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, enhancing the overall safety of the riders.
