PUBG Mobile India is relaunching in India as the Battlegrounds Mobile India. Today, PUBG’s parent firm Krafton officially confirmed the arrival of the new game, which is tailored-made for gamers in India. The YouTube account of the PUBG Mobile India has also been renamed Battlegrounds Mobile India. The website of the new game has also gone live in India.
PUBG was banned by the Indian government in September 2020 due to the India-China conflict at the border. At that time, China-based Tencent Holdings held the game rights in India, after which the rights were handed over to the parent company Krafton, a South Korea-based firm. After releasing multiple teasers over the past few months, Krafton officially confirmed its comeback today.
PUBG Mobile is coming back as Battlegrounds Mobile India
Krafton said that Battlegrounds Mobile India will deliver a world-class AAA multiplayer gaming experience on mobile. It will be an India-exclusive game that will offer gamers various in-game events like outfits and features. The game will offer a battle royale experience through an esports ecosystem with tournaments and leagues.
Battlegrounds Mobile India will be a free-to-play experience on mobile devices. The company will be teaming up with partners to bring India-specific in-game events regularly. The company is yet to confirm the launch date of the game. It will be opening pre-registration before the launch.

Various reports claimed that Krafton is working with new partners to meet India’s privacy and security requirements. The press release by Krafton states that privacy and data security are its top priority. It also confirmed that all data collection and storage will comply with India’s government’s laws and regulations.
