Taiwan-based BenQ has launched the world’s first 4K home cinema projectors in India. The two projectors have been dubbed as CinePrime W5700 and W2700. Both the projectors feature 100 percent DCI-P3 colour accuracy and HDR-PRO support.
As for the specs and features, both the CinePrime models deliver a true 4K experience. They bear a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and produce 8.3 million distinct pixels for each frame. While the W2700 features a high level of image accuracy that will satisfy movie buffs, the W5700 features 1.6X zoom and 2D H/V lens shift, making it ideal for use in AV rooms.
The W5700 and W2700 feature a common DCI-P3 colour-space which produces a wider gamut of colours. Both the projectors sport BenQ’s proprietary CinematicColor technology. The W5700 offers 100 percent coverage of the super wide DCI-P3 colour space and 100 percent of Rec.709 colours coverage. On the other hand, the W2700 produces 94 percent of DCI-P3 and 100 percent of Rec.709 colours. BenQ’s new cinema projectors support HDR-PRO technology that is optimised for projection. It supports HDR10 and HLG formats and features auto colour and tone mapping that offers greater brightness and contrast without loss of details and clarity.
BenQ’s CinePrime projectors flaunt a modern, compact design and are lightweight. Both the projectors are claimed to deliver a long-lasting picture quality with precise colours clarity without maintenance or degradation.
As for the pricing, the W2700 is available at a price tag of Rs 2.49 lakh while the W5700 retails at Rs 2.99 lakhs. Both the projectors will begin shipping in Q1 2019.
